Oovoo Adds Business Video Conferencing Service

Oovoo is a popular (7.5 million users), high-quality video chat service that I’ve done a couple of blog posts about here and here.

And they’ve just announced that they’re going to start competing with the likes of Cisco, by offering Oovoo Business…a business-level video conferencing service.

With the service, businesses will get:

  • 6 way video conferencing with high quality video and audio
  • Desktop sharing
  • People can conference by phone too
  • Send and receive files
  • Text chat
  • Record conferences (1,000 minutes of online storage)
  • Users can participate from any browser with no software to install

So how much?  The current price of Oovoo Business is $39.95 a month per seat.  Per seat means per person attending.  And they offer steep discounts for multi-seat plans.

For example, a 10 set plan is $245.95 a month…or $24.59 per seat.  And a 50 seat plan is $699.95 a month, or $13.99 per seat.

Given the quality of the service Oovoo provides, it will be interesting to see how this new business offering shakes up the industry.
