Animoto Adds Video To It’s Popular Photo Slideshow Creation Tool

Popular photo slideshow creation site, Animoto (see my video review here), added a video option to their service this week.

Normally with Animoto, you upload some photos, select some music, click a button and a slideshow is automatically created to fit the length of the music.  You can then embed this slideshow, as a video, on your web site.

With the new video option, you can upload your videos too…up to 200MB.  The catch is that Animoto can only use 5 or 10 second clips from your video, not the whole thing.  They do provide an editor that allows you to select the 5 or 10 second clips that you want (you can select multiple clips from the same video).

From there, things work just like they do with photos…select some music, click a button and a photo/video slideshow is automatically created for you.

To learn more about Animoto’s new video option and see some examples of it in use, just click here.
