WVU #42 – VideoPress Review
In May 2009, the folks behind WordPress introduced a new service called VideoPress. VideoPress allows you to insert videos into your WordPress blogs as easily as you insert images. Using VideoPress, with just one click, you can upload your videos, have them converted into high-quality formats and get simple code snippets to embed those videos into your blog.
But VideoPress may not be for everyone and there are some things you need to be aware of if you plan on using this service. I cover all of these details and more in this video review of VideoPress.

Dave,
Just wondering what are the alternatives that function like videopress but give you more control over the player.
@Kevin – You can host your own videos or use a service like Kaltura:

Hey, I’m with Automattic/WordPress. Thanks for covering VideoPress, and creating this video how-to.
Just FYI that everything we built for VideoPress is Open Source. If you want to run this service yourself, including customizing the player, you may want to check out the details here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpresscom-video-server/
