As video cameras get smaller and smaller, people wonder how they can keep their cameras steady while shooting video. The obvious choice is a tripod…but they aren’t always convenient.
So in this video, I show you how with just a trip to your hardware store and a few dollars, you can build your own “tripod-like” devices to keep your camera steady.

Thank Dave.
Mini tripod… Screwed in a very short 1/4 screw up through the inside up a waterbottle cap (16.9 oz) and filled the bottle up with water but better, some sand (from the local park sandbox) for an inexpensive short, tripod.
Hi Dave
If you dont mind what video player did you use for this video?
@Marius – It’s a custom player we designed.
Hi Dave
I love your show. My daughter learned in her college photography course that any lamp shade holder can be unscrewed and used as a tripod.
Hi Dave
Thanks for another well-made, interesting, and informative video. A slight tweak for the bungy cord is to substitute a beaded chain (like pull chains on ceiling fans). The ‘chain-pod’ takes up almost no space in a pocket, purse, or camera bag. Plus it’s more ’stable’ than the shock cord.
WOW – Awesome Tip, Thanks a Bunch Dave your knowledge is Valuable. Will Tweet to my Audience
