Here’s another example of how creative thinking…coupled with web video…can produce a product that never before existed (or a new product that piggybacks off of an existing one).<\/p>\n

Take for example the dictionary.\u00a0 It’s always been a big book sitting on a shelf somewhere in our home, a classroom or a library.\u00a0 It has advanced into software forms we can install on our computers or access via the Internet.<\/p>\n

But what would happen if you made a user-generated dictionary based on web video?<\/p>\n

Well, you’d get a lot of traffic and gain a lot of popularity…fast.\u00a0 That’s what happened with Wordia<\/strong>, a site that allows anyone to submit a video defining a word.<\/p>\n

Here’s how it works.\u00a0 You go to Wordia.com<\/strong><\/a>, you search for a word, you discover there is no video for it yet, you produce a video defining the word and you become the “star” for that word.<\/p>\n

Pretty simple concept, huh?\u00a0 Well, it’s also turning out to be wildly popular.<\/p>\n

But don’t think you can go there and submit a video in the hopes of marketing your company.\u00a0 That’s not what Wordia is about.\u00a0 At best, your video will become popular and you’ll gain 15 minutes of fame.<\/p>\n

The bigger point here are the words I used at the top of the post; “creative thinking”.\u00a0 You see, there are no rules when it comes to web video<\/strong>.\u00a0 And while most people are stuck trying to copy what’s already been done, there are others who are creating entirely new products and businesses, using nothing more than video and creative thinking.<\/p>\n

Maybe that sounds cliche…that a single idea…and web video…can launch a business.\u00a0 But I’m proof…this entire web site was started with nothing more than, you guessed it, an idea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
