{"id":1238,"date":"2010-04-26T09:30:05","date_gmt":"2010-04-26T13:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webvideouniversity.com\/blog\/?p=1238"},"modified":"2010-04-26T09:30:05","modified_gmt":"2010-04-26T13:30:05","slug":"3-terrific-and-free-sites-for-web-video-producers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webvideouniversity.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/26\/3-terrific-and-free-sites-for-web-video-producers\/","title":{"rendered":"3 Terrific (and free) Sites For Web Video Producers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While going through and cleaning up my huge list of bookmarked sites, I re-discovered 3 gems that had fallen off my radar. \u00a0Sites that can help anyone do a few of the things they&#8217;d like to do with video (but weren&#8217;t sure how) and do them for free.<\/p>\n<p>First up is <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/drop.io\/\" target=\"_blank\">Drop.io<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0This service allows you to send large files (up to 100MB) for free. \u00a0But it does more than that. \u00a0It also allows collaboration for these files. \u00a0And in the case of video, a person can not only download the file you send them, but they can watch it in their browser too (or even embed it if they want). \u00a0In short, it does more than most &#8220;paid-for&#8221; file transfer services, for free.<\/p>\n<p>Next we have <a href=\"http:\/\/livecage.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Livecage<\/strong><\/a>. \u00a0This is a live streaming service along the lines of ustream.tv, justin.tv and so on. \u00a0However this one has a twist. \u00a0It also allows you to do live video or audio conferences with up to 10 people&#8230;for free.<\/p>\n<p>And finally we have <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/qik.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Qik<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0This is a live streaming service too. \u00a0But it&#8217;s specifically for smartphones&#8230;meaning it allows you to stream live video from your smartphone (including iPhones, Blackberries and Androids). \u00a0And the quality is surprisingly&#8230;not bad. \u00a0It can also be pretty useful, depending upon what you&#8217;d like to stream.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While going through and cleaning up my huge list of bookmarked sites, I re-discovered 3 gems that had fallen off my radar. \u00a0Sites that can help anyone do a few of the things they&#8217;d like to do with video (but weren&#8217;t sure how) and do them for free.
