In a previous post<\/a>, I talked about how one of the best ways to make money with web video is to produce educational or “how to” videos.<\/p>\n

For those of you who have taken my training, you know I also stress quality content and production value…as well as building an audience (rather than using spammy techniques in an attempt to get quick traffic through video).<\/p>\n

Well, Kip Kedersha<\/strong> is the perfect example of all of these things in motion.\u00a0 You see, Kip produces how-to videos and puts them on video sharing sites.\u00a0 In particular, video sharing sites that share their advertising revenue with content producers (like Metacafe and more recently YouTube).<\/p>\n

How well has Kip done?<\/strong> Well, he’s earned $120,000<\/strong> doing this over the past two years.<\/p>\n

Part of Kip’s secret is that he focuses his videos in a tight niche; how to do cool stuff with gadgets and technology.\u00a0 For example, how to turn a flash light into a laser, how to turn traffic lights green with magnets, how to hear through walls and more.\u00a0 All told, Kip has produced about 90 videos.<\/p>\n

As an added bonus, because of the popularity of his videos, he has also been contracted by large companies to produce their videos.\u00a0 Not bad for one guy with some ideas and a video camera, huh?<\/p>\n

But the big lesson here…again…is the formula Kip uses with web video<\/strong>.\u00a0 He sticks to a niche.\u00a0 He targets education.\u00a0 He provides quality content.\u00a0 He has consistent production value.\u00a0 And he builds an audience.<\/p>\n

Do these things religiously and you’ll have success with web video.\u00a0 It won’t happen overnight.\u00a0 And it won’t happen if you play with it for two weeks and then quit.\u00a0 But stick to it and you’ll get the rewards.<\/p>\n

Or as Benjamin Franklin said “He that can have patience, can have what he will”.<\/p>\n

I hope Kip’s story has inspired<\/strong> you…at least a little.\u00a0 I hope it gets ideas<\/strong> flowing in your head.\u00a0 And I hope it gets you to take action<\/strong> on those ideas…because you’ll never have success with web video until you start moving on it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
