SALE – GENTLY USED LED VIDEO LIGHTS

I have two gently used LED video lights for sale. If you’re not familiar with LED video lights, they give you the benefits of being very small and portable, they run cool, they can run off of batteries, they can be dimmed and they put out a lot of light. Here are the details on the lights I have for sale.

These lights are from CoolLights. The model number is CL-LED256. Click here to see all of the specs, etc. directly from the CoolLights web site.

Each light contains 256 LEDS in the daylight (5600k) color range. They can be dimmed either by turning on/off separate banks and/or through a dimming knob. They contain a set of filters for diffusing the light or changing the light temperature to tungsten (incandescent). The lights can run off of standard AC power or batteries. The lights contain mounts for Sony batteries and a battery (with charger) is included with each light (not Sony brand batteries…knock-offs). The lights come with the original soft cases, cables, filters, etc…everything originally purchased.

PROS
Portable…run off batteries if you want
Dimmable…if a light is too bright, just dim it, no need to move it
Runs cool…you won’t end up sweating while shooting videos
Uses little power…you don’t need to worry about blowing fuses when you plug them in
Puts off a lot of light…these lights are bright.
CONS
Cannot be attached to a camera…they are too big, they need to be mounted on a light stand
LED light is between hard and soft light…you don’t get the near-shadowless, soft light like from a softbox
Not for some applications…these lights are bright but they only have 256 LEDS each, that’s not enough for properly lighting a green screen as an example

These lights were originally purchased in April 2010 and they are used, albeit gently used. They look in mint condition. I recently had the boards replaced (by CoolLights) to make sure the color of light they produce is accurate. Why? Over time, all lights lose a bit of their color/brightness. I wanted to make sure whoever buys them is getting fresh lights.

Here are some pictures of the lights:

<a
