{"id":316,"date":"2009-05-13T09:57:49","date_gmt":"2009-05-13T13:57:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webvideouniversity.com\/blog\/?p=316"},"modified":"2009-05-13T09:57:49","modified_gmt":"2009-05-13T13:57:49","slug":"google-squared-a-new-way-to-google","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webvideouniversity.com\/blog\/2009\/05\/13\/google-squared-a-new-way-to-google\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Squared &#8211; A New Way To Google"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday at Google&#8217;s Searchology event they announced a new search tool they are about to unveil called <strong>Google Squared<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>What does it do?<\/p>\n<p>It returns search results in a spreadsheet format&#8230;with each column of the spreadsheet displaying different information about the site&#8217;s it returns.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, Google is creating it&#8217;s own web page with information culled from other sites.\u00a0 And this has some people upset&#8230;they think the more information Google is sharing about a site, the less people will be inclined to actually visit that site.<\/p>\n<p>But I don&#8217;t exactly see the logic of that arguement&#8230;as it seems to me Google Squared will actually help people find the exact sites they want, instead of clicking back and forth between often misleading result titles.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, Google Squared isn&#8217;t available to the public&#8230;yet.\u00a0 But if you&#8217;d like to see what Google Squared actually looks like, you can <a href=\"http:\/\/blogoscoped.com\/archive\/2009-05-12-n39.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>see images of it from a Blogoscoped post here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday at Google&#8217;s Searchology event they announced a new search tool they are about to unveil called Google Squared.
