In the post below, my student explains how in 3 months, he launched not one but two successful online businesses.\u00a0 And he also shares probably the biggest “secret” to why people succeed online…or why they fail.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a student of Dave\u2019s but he didn\u2019t ask me to write this.\u00a0 I want to write this.<\/p>\n

Anyhow, I am sitting here at my desk working on some things and just had an order come through for $495.<\/p>\n

Let me ask you, would an extra $495 come in handy for you?\u00a0 Well it darn sure does for me.<\/p>\n

The $495 order came for video based business I started in March of this year.\u00a0 I teach corporate people stuff.\u00a0 What I teach doesn\u2019t really matter\u2026 the point I want to make in this article is a simple one.<\/p>\n

And this point is to stop thinking about that big idea of yours and start doing something about it.\u00a0 You see, I promise you someone or some company is waiting to send you good money for some skill you already have or can learn in less than 3 months.<\/p>\n

3 months to a new business<\/strong><\/p>\n

That\u2019s right.\u00a0 3 months.<\/p>\n

How do I know this?\u00a0 Because just a few weeks ago I had the idea of converting a free eBook I\u2019ve used to build my email list for the past year into a sellable audio book since I think Malcolm is right and Seth is so unbelievably wrong<\/a>\u2026 but I digress.<\/p>\n

So I asked Dave what microphone to use\u2026 he told me and I bought it for around $150.\u00a0 I asked him what software to use\u2026 he told me and I downloaded the 30 day trial version (hey, I\u2019m cheap what can I say).<\/p>\n

I then worked my face off, as my hero Gary Vay-ner-chuk<\/a> likes to say, for a few nights and recorded the 90 minute audio book.\u00a0 I then had an elancer whip up a simple landing page since I can barely spell HTML.\u00a0 And finally I shot and edited a 90 second welcome video for the landing page right before I launched this bad boy this past Sunday night.<\/p>\n

How have I done?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The results?\u00a0 Well, I\u2019m converting about 5.5% of all leads into customers (Dave tells me 3% or better is outstanding) and made my money back for the mic and elance fees in less than 24 hours.<\/p>\n

Why was I successful?\u00a0 Not because I am smarter than you.\u00a0 And not because I have a huge list (I have 3,000) or amazing contacts (my niche is actually pretty boring).<\/p>\n

My secret?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No, the reason is simple\u2026 I had an idea and went for it guns freaking blazing.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t wait for someone to tell me it was a good or bad idea.\u00a0 And I didn\u2019t sit and plan for days and weeks on end.<\/p>\n

Nope.\u00a0 I had an idea and went for it.<\/p>\n

As a result\u2026 in addition to those $495 orders for my video based business I\u2019m now getting orders for $7.95 for an audio book I will never touch again.\u00a0 In fact, Francis from the Philippines just sent me $7.95 and I live in Texas.\u00a0 How cool is that?<\/p>\n

You can do this<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t say these things to brag or pound my chest.\u00a0 Really, I don\u2019t or I would have used my name and linked to my websites in this article.<\/p>\n

No, I say this to drive home a simple truth.\u00a0 And that truth is that you can do this too.\u00a0 Really, you can.\u00a0 You just need to decide to do it.<\/p>\n
