ScreenToaster Adds YouTube Support, Downloadable Videos and Recorder API

S

Back in January, I did a video review on a new web-based product called ScreenToaster.

ScreenToaster is a browser based system that allows you to quickly make high-quality screen recordings from your computer…without having to download any software.  And because it is browser based, it runs equally well on Windows or a Mac.

ScreenToaster is also one of those rare companies that constantly update their product.  Today, they are unveiling three new features that will be useful for many users:

YouTube Support – Now when you make your recordings in ScreenToaster, you can upload those recordings directly to YouTube…and…in HD quality.

Download Recordings – After making your screen recording, now you can download it (as a .mov file) for further editing in virtually any software you want (Sony Vegas, Final Cut, Camtastia, ScreenFlow, etc.).

Recorder API – This new feature is in beta, however, with it you’ll be able to integrate ScreenFlow into your web site or blog.  That means for example, your audience will have the ability to publish their videos directly to your blog or web site.  This is particularly useful if you offer some sort of “troubleshooting” advice to your audience…where they can upload videos of the problems they are having and you can create video responses.

Not bad for a product only several months old.  The ScreenToaster user-base is growing rapidly, and to check it out for yourself (it is a free service by the way), just click here.

  • ScreenToaster has great development in the past few months. It comes to be easier to share your screencasts online. It is difficult to add the editing features to make it work as DemoCreator or Camtasia. Anyway, you can download the video for further edting.
