Add Unique Perspective To Your Web Videos with Helmet-Cam Style Shots

As web video poplularity continues to surge and production values continue to go up, one of the ways you can make your videos stand out is by using “helmet-cam” style shots.

We’ve all seen video like this before, where a tiny camera is attached to a person or an object and we get a first-person view of the action.  But one of the problems has always been that cameras like this for the “average person” have either been cheap (i.e. breakable and often don’t work) or expensive (i.e. $700 or more).

About a year ago a company called Twenty20 introduced the Vholdr camera.  The Vholr fills the gap between cheap and expensive “helmet-cam” style cameras and runs around $300 (the current price on Amazon).

It’s also dead-simple to use.  The camera is either on or off.  Everything gets recorded to Flash memory.  And it runs off a rechargeable battery (you get about 2 hours worth of recording time).

What kind of shots can you achieve with the Vholdr and what’s the quality of the video? Well, the Vholdr web site contains plenty of examples.  In fact, you can even upload your footage to their site.

To see the Vholdr in action (and get plenty of ideas on how you could implement “helmet-cam” style footage into your own videos), you can visit the Vholdr web site here.
