Today Microsoft announced two new Windows-based phones, the Kin One and Kin Two. The Kin’s are not designed to compete with iPhones, but rather they are based on what the public told Microsoft they want in a phone…generous social networking capability.
The result is a phone laden with social features, along with a physical keyboard and touch screen, up to an 8 megapixel camera (with Flash), the option to shoot HD video, the option of having stereo speakers in the phone and a media player powered by Zune.
Additional details are still sketchy as the Kin phones have just been announced. But they will be available in about a month through Verizon. More details can be found on the newly launched Kin web site.
