Ooyala Introduces Paywall Pay-Per-View Video Feature

O

Video platform Ooyala introduced a new feature to their service today, called Paywall.  With Paywall, Ooyala customers can easily turn on pay-per-view options for any of their videos.  For example, you can tease a viewer with the first 60 seconds of your video, but then a screen pops up asking them to pay to watch the rest.

Paywall is integrated with PayPal for payment processing and can be used for both pre-recorded and live videos.  Paywall is not a standard feature of Ooyala accounts…it’s an additional cost you must pay for.  No prices are listed on Ooyala’s site for Paywall, but considering a basic account with Ooyala runs $500 a month, don’t expect Paywall to be cheap.

However, if you’re looking for pay-per-view options for your videos, it is one of only a few options out there…and seems to be the most straightforward and simplest of all to use.  Plus, Ooyala by itself is one of the most robust video platforms available.
