TechSmith has released new versions of their popular Camtasia screen recording software for both Windows and Mac. On the Windows side, the new version is Camtasia 7 and on the Mac the latest version is Camtasia 1.1. Here’s a quick breakdown of the new features for each platform:
Camtasia 7 for Windows
- New interface
- Audio volume fading
- Sketch motion callouts (looks like you’re drawing on screen)
- More modern callout graphics
- Copy and paste effects…to reuse them in timeline
- A library of backgrounds and animations provided by Digital Juice
Camtasia 1.1 for Mac
- Custom recording regions…you select the exact window you want to record instead of your entire screen (this is a big one)
- Audio enhancements for noise reduction
- Audio enhancements for pitch change
- Voice only recordings
- Pause your recording, while you’re recording (just like you’ve always been able to do in Windows)
The upgrade cost for Windows users is $149 and the upgrade for Mac users is free. You can learn more from TechSmith’s site by clicking here.
