I use BitGravity to host my videos. And one of the most common questions I receive is “how is BitGravity different from Amazon S3”? Without diving deep into the technical differences, the short answers are BitGravity has been built from the ground up to do one thing; deliver high quality web video, they provide an extremely simple and useful user control panel, that among other things, provides you near real-time viewership statistics, they provide outstanding customer support, I receive far fewer video playback complaints than I did with Amazon and between the two, BitGravity is far simpler to use.
And now they are adding another big benefit…on-demand video transcoding. They’ve partnered with HD Cloud to integrate video transcoding into BitGravity accounts. That means BitGravity customers will have a simple interface where they can upload videos, have them encoded into high-quality web-ready formats (including iPhone and iPad formats) and then have those resulting files dropped directly into their BitGravity accounts, ready for instant playback on the web.
This new transcoding service will be available to BitGravity customers in the summer of 2010. The learn more about BitGravity and what they offer, click here.

Getting stats is a big advantage over S3. But, I noticed one thing you did not mention is the price. Amazon S3 is very affordable. How much does the on-demand transcoding, stats, and ease of use cost?
