Fresh off the heals of the enormously successful Paranormal Activity films comes news of another Hollywood film in the works…shot entirely using cheap Flip cameras. The film, titled A Love Affair of Sorts follows a man and woman who meet when he films her (on his Flip camera) shoplifting in a store and then as they begin the awkward process of developing a romantic relationship (all captured with a Flip camera).
The idea is to share a story everyone can relate to (developing a relationship with someone new) while delivering the story through technology everyone can relate to as well; pocket video cameras. This technological sense of realism worked amazingly well for Paranormal Activity, so don’t be surprised if more films like A Love Affair of Sorts start creeping into theaters…or even knocking off big-budgeted 3D movies.
A Love Affair of Sorts is tentatively scheduled to be released in April 2011. No movie trailer is available (yet).
