My friend Jeff Roldan of UnlimitedStockMedia.com is running a video editing contest. The contest is simple. You take a library of stock video clips (provided to you at no charge) and you create a short video from them. You can create any type of video you want; short film, documentary, commercial, music video…whatever. The person who creates the best video wins a 16GB iPad with their name engraved on it. And I’ll be one of the judges.
The contest runs until March 23, 2011. Entering and getting started is simple. Here’s how it works:
1. Go here and enter your name and email address. You’ll be sent an email where you can download a stock video library at no cost.
2. Make your video using the stock clips provided to you. If you want to jazz up your video even more, you can use additional stock video clips…provided they are from UnlimitedStockMedia.com. You can also add music, voice-overs, motion graphics and so on…provided you own the rights, you created them yourself or they are royalty-free. Full details are available on the contest page.
3. When you’re done with your masterpiece, upload it to the Vimeo Contest Page for this competition. That’s it…you’re done.
Myself and 5 other judges will be reviewing all of the entries. The following week the winners will be announced. First place gets a 16GB iPad with their name engraved on it and second place gets a free 30 day pass to UnlimitedStockMedia.com. Sorry, there is no third place. But you can enter more than one video if you want.
