Video Interview – One On One with Will Franco – Video Email Marketing

V

Earlier this week I sat down and did a video interview with Will Franco of jiveSYSTEMS, where we talked about one of the fastest growing areas on the web…video email.

Will is an expert in this area.  In fact, some of his clients have earned as much as $4,000 in a single day by using video email (and no, they weren’t doing anything remotely related to Internet marketing or making money online).

Now, you may think that the technology required for video email is out of reach for you…or maybe even too complex.  Think again.  These days, literally anyone with an inexpensive webcam and an Internet connection can exploit the marketing power of video email.

During my interview with Will, we talked about how video email is fast becoming critical for online marketing success, how it engages people who might otherwise ignore you, how video email compares…head to head…with regular text-based email and much more.

To top it off, I’ve even arranged it where you can try video email for yourself…at no cost…for 30 days.  No gimmicks, no catches, no fine print.  It’s being provided as an opportunity for you to explore the power of video email…without any risk whatsoever.  Really, the deal is a no-brainer…so don’t pass it up.

All the details are in my interview with Will below:

Disclosure – I’m a compensated affiliate.  I gave you my honest review and opinion on this product.  But I am also an affiliate of this product.  That means if you order the product using the link I supply,I will be paid a commission on the sale.

  • Hi Dave, I’m from Hungary, and I’m your faithfully reader. Great post. VideoMail is unknown In my cuntry. I think it’s will a biggest marketing idea on the next year. I want to learn it,

  • Great idea. The key will be for users to NOT ramble when sending a video email and get to the point. Not say that people don’t do this with email, but generally speaking, people are more apt to carry on verbally, than they might be with the keyboard – especially if they are not adept typers.

I love the interview style by the way – it would be helpful to see how you’ve done this. I’m guessing that it’s NOT in real time, but rather all put together in post production to look linear.

The new red backdrop is killer too! How did you pull that together? Lighting, special backdrop or both?

  • Hi Dave

I just watched the video you did with Will Franco and I’ve watched all the video testimonials on the Jive Systems site.

    There’s something I’d still like to know…

Is the actual video I make embedded in the email that I send out or is there just a link to it in the email?

If the video isn’t actually playable in the email itself, I don’t see the benefit of using this service.

You could just as easily make a YouTube video and put the link to it in your email.

I wonder if you could clarify this for me, I’m a bit confused!

  • John,

You can do either…embed or direct link. The problem with embedding though is that the recipient must accept email in an HTML format…and some people don’t. So they’ll get an email that just has a bunch of code.

Plus the process between YouTube and give is very different. With YouTube, you record the video, you render it, you upload it to YouTube and you wait for it to be converted. Then you send your email. This could take around 30 minutes.

With Jive, one click and you record the video. One more click and the video is sent to one person or thousands.

  • I was thinking the exact same thing as Tribute Bands.

After reading your response is it safe to say this service is more of a matter of convenience instead of something new?

  • Convenience is part of it…but it’s more than just that.

I could write pages detailing the differences, but really the best thing for anyone or everyone to do is test it out head-to-head with whatever workaround they are thinking of.

In other words, try the YouTube example John mentioned above.

Then, sign-up for a Jive account (you do get a free 30-day trial account) and try that.

Then, determine what works best for you.

Keep in mind though, Jive (and similar services) are not just video email. They provide multi-party video conferencing, virtual classrooms, whiteboard presentations and more.

  • The YouTube comparison comes up a lot. It still always surprises me that even after listening to the testimonials on our website and reading our features sections, one could compare our services. Though I am grateful for your comments as they are a clear indication that we need to work on refining our message to more accurately convey the value proposition of our services (video email, conferencing, and rep).

THERE ARE TWO (2) MAJOR DIFFERENCES BETWEEN YOUTUBE AND jiveSYSTEMS
    1) Success in selling comes from a closed/controlled sales funnel which jiveSYSTEMS offers and a whole lot more! jiveSYSTEMS can be branded with your logo and information from start to finish. YouTube is an open sales funnel which makes it easy for your viewers to get distracted. For those of you who are wondering what distraction within a sales funnel means – IT MEANS YOU JUST LOST A LOT OF MONEY!!!! Also, which service do you think is more professional when sending messages to prospects and clients: YouTube or a professional video email system?

    2) We have a customer support team, weekly training webinars, and video email coaching. The coaching element I provide is truly unique. I teach jiveSYSTEMS member’s strategies to work less, make more money while providing better customer service. One need only listen the success stories on our website to know we are the real deal. YouTube offers none of the above. YouTube and similar sites are for video sharing, they can be used to get free publicity; however, when one wants to send a targeted message to an individual or a group of prospects and/or clients a professional video email system is required.

Also, John and Jeremy I would like to directly address your comments. To do so I will use an analogy. Not too long ago, phones were hard wired into the wall. In 1983 Motorola released the first mobile phone. Some might call cell phones a matter of convenience. While others, like myself, would call them something entirely different. The Internet was probably referred to as a matter of convenience not so long ago as well. Please do sign-up for the free test-drive by clicking the link below the video player above, and we will prove everything I am saying to you!

Lastly, there are a myriad of video email companies ranging from free to ones that cost an arm-and-leg. Our platform makes is easy for you to record and send videos, you can even upload videos recorded on a portable camcorder or any other portable video recording device because our system automatically encodes and resizes them. All you have to do is select the video file from your desktop, regardless of the format*, within a matter of minutes, it’s in your video email account where you can send it to you prospects and clients. Cool, Huh? Best of all, when you need help, your membership comes with unlimited support from our Video Coaches; and you will still have both your arms and legs! I promise.

*This Paul Sokol, a video coach with jiveSYSTEMS. We accept the most common video formats. You can import .wmv, .avi, .mpg, .mod, and .asf files. Once the videos are in the system, you can also convert them to flash.

Will Franco (aka Flywheel) and Paul Sokol (Video Coach) with jiveSYSTEMS.

  • Is jiveSYSTEMS a reseller of CoVideoSys?

I believe I attended a webcast about 1-2 weeks ago from CoVideo and I think he was there. After the webinar, I received a videomail from him.

I’ve been using Eyejot for some time and I really like their widget I can put on my web and anyone can send me video mail. I think that’s a feature all video mail services should implement. Here is the widget I am referring to: http://janetgarcia.com

  • I work with several companies including other video email services.

Eyejot is a video email service; however, even on their best plan they only offer five minutes of recording time. jiveSYSTEMS offers sixty minutes plus unlimited storage and bandwidth. Also, we hold weekly Webinars where we teach you the best strategies and practices to apply video email to save time, make more money, while providing better customer service. Lastly, you getjiveCONFERENCE and jiveREP with your jiveSYSTEMS account for free.

Please feel free to sign-up for a thirty day free test-drive and see if you like jiveSYSTEMS. Just click the link under the Video Interview I did with Dave.

  • Jive is good, an hours recording is excellent although 30 sec to a min is all I would need as a rule. I would wish for an affiliate plan though, if all the emails are linked back to jive on the gmail principle of growth I would like to earn as well from people who learn of and use the service via my introduction. And there are programmes out there that do, otherwise jive is top notch brilliant templates ease of use the works!

  • flywheel, I did sign up at jive, but what attracts me from eyejot is the ability to ‘receive’ video email (even anonymously) from other people, so I guess I won’t drop it unless you too come up with a similar idea. Yes, 5 minutes is only good for short messages. It’s more for shot and quick communication via video instead of typing it.

With jivesystem, being able to record/upload up to an hour of video opens up more possibilities or uses for these video mails than for just ‘small talks/messages’.

Would you consider implementing a way to receive at least short video messages, maybe with a maximum of 5 minutes, from people who is not a member of jivesytems?

I really like the LiveRep as sometimes people want answers right away rather than going to support and create a ticket!

  • We are refining our current system and developing a myriad of new features, including a variety of widgets that can be added to your website! Widgets will allow for video responses too!!!!
