Easily, the most frequent questions I get asked about web video are what equipment I use, what settings I use with the equipment and how I go about creating web videos.
So today I thought we’d take a look at how someone other than me does it. And that someone is Cali Lewis of GeekBrief.TV. In the video below, Cali gives a behind-the-scenes look at how she produces her web show.
Keep in mind that Cali produces a daily show and with that format, time is critical. And the better the equipment you use, the more time can save.

I think Cali Lewis is amazingly awesome!
I did watch that episode on her site. Then I found, watched, and really enjoyed your video with her.
Thanks for all your tips!
This is a great post BUT all the equipment she uses is just about top of the line. If you were to add it all up it would be over $10,000 worth of gear. This is a great setup to aspire to as time goes on but the videos coming out of WVU achieve nearly the same quality at about a 3rd the price for electronics.
I will commend her on excellent green screen techniques. If you want the very best and clean key, you gotta shoot HD, which she does.
Correction…I couldn’t resist. I did a quick add of all the components if purchased from BH Photo in NYC and the total price for just the gear she mentioned came to a whopping $30,625.

Yes, like the poster above. I like Dave’s Video’s much better. He achieves a warm, intimate quality. Cali’s videos are great, but as she goes forward creating almost a studio-like, perfection based video show, the more she just blends in with everything on cable today.
