HP introduced some new software this week and with it added a new twist to video conferencing.
The software is called SkyRoom. It allows people to communicate via video conferencing…where they can see each other through web cams and share their screens. In other words, it does the same thing that other videoconferencing packages do.
What makes SkyRoom different however, is that there is no monthly service fee (as is the case with nearly all other video conferencing packages). Instead, you just buy the SkyRoom software outright and can use it forever at no additional cost.
It runs around $150 per copy or seat, meaning each person who wants to use it must purchase their own copy. However, SkyRoom is going to start shipping on all new HP computers starting in October 2009…for free.

No monthly fee is good… there is a company giving 10 seat flash video conferencing rooms as part of a package…
These rooms used to be sold!
The advantage? is that other users just sign in through a link and the disadvantage is the ten person limit with out upgrading.
