How To Sell On YouTube Without Creating Any Videos

H

Shelley Davis runs a hair care company out of her apartment in Los Angeles.  Her company is profitable and her products are on the shelves of Target and Whole Foods Markets stores.  A couple years ago that wasn’t the case.  But everything turned around when she turned to YouTube.  Thing is, she never uploaded a single video.

Instead, she focused on YouTube comments, where she would join discussions and give hair product advice.  The result was YouTube users taking her advice and then uploading videos of themselves trying out her hair care products.  It all kind of snowballed…and…it boosted her sales by 40%.

And she’s not alone.  Many savvy companies are using YouTube’s comment section as marketing tools…and reaping the benefits.  The Wall Street Journal has an excellent article about it…and…should be required reading for any legitimate Internet marketer.

  • Great idea – wonder if it would work for my area of Break-Free Fast coaching with EFT-Matrix Reimprinting? I want to do more videos myself – I just bought the Kodak Play Touch after seeing your review/s Dave… but until then will experiment with COMMENTING…thanks for the tip off Dave

  • I was meeting with a young sharp marketing consultant today about business and web strategies and he was suggesting to do exactly this is it is good to read a success story from a small business person. Thanks for posting the article

  • I tweeted this because it is one of the best low-cost and effective marketing advice I’ve come across with online.

And I love the fact that it came from a small business owner! Not a social media guru or marketing professional. Sometimes we professionals forget that simple campaigns are best!
