There are a variety of popular services in the web conferencing arena, from WebEx to GotoMeeting to FuzeMeeting to name a few. But now this number has been reduced by one as another popular service, Dimdim, has announced their acquisition by SalesForce.com. That means Dimdim is no more.
On March 15, 2011 all month to month Dimdim accounts will cease to exist. Those who have paid for annual accounts will have accesses to their accounts until their term expires. No refunds will be offered on any accounts.
So if you use or were planning to use Dimdim for your web conferencing needs, you’ll need to find another vendor. But don’t feel sorry for Dimdim. Launched in just 2007, they were acquired by SalesForce.com for a reported $31 million in cash. You can get all the specifics here.
