Video Tutorial: How To Fix Ugly Colors In Sony Vegas

V

It happens quite a bit…you spend all day shooting your video, only to end up disappointed at how the colors in your video turned out.  Or worse yet, the colors look so bad that you think the only choice you have is to re-shoot the entire video.

While “best practice” is to get everything right when your video is originally shot, it also happens to be very easy to fix mistakes in “post”…meaning in your video editing software.

In the tutorial below, I use Sony Vegas to show you how to take some less than desirable footage and improve the colors.  Specifically, I show you how to change the background color and even the shirt color of the person in the video.

  • Useful video, thanks.
I always wonder what makes your screen capture videos so clear.
    What’s the secret?

  • Hi Dave,

Awsome video tutorial – Just the thing I needed 🙂
But I checked my Sony Vegas (I have kept ver. 8 and also have ver. 9)
I don’t seem to have Color covert 2 plugin?
Is that something extra or did I remove it somehow?

Thanks for all your work – You rock
